ETL supports Buhari’s war against corruption in tertiary institutions


CHAIRMAN, Executive Trainers Limited, Dr Ayo Ogunsan, has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s war  on corruption in tertiary institutions, stating that it is the right step in the right direction.
Ogunsan who is responsible in the past seven year for the training of Chancellors, Vice Chancellors,  Provosts, Rectors and other top executives in Nigerian tertiary institutions, disclosed that whatever area the government needs his support to sanitised the system will be rendered.
The higher education expert who admitted that there is a lot of corruption   in the system, noted that it is high time the Federal Government got rid of  embezzlement, intimidation of female students, cultism, settlement of lecturers to get good grades during examinations.
He said: “To curb corruption in tertiary institutions, the heads of institutions of higher learning must be strong to do that. If the leaders shift ground on integrity, the institution will fall.”
According to him, one of the strategy put in place to assist the Federal Government is to develop a regionalized enriching programme and training for higher education executives.
“Our programme on corruption will be regionalised. We will link the industry with the institution and provoke industries to invest in higher institution,” he said.
Ogunsan who vowed not to stop the training of these executives in tertiary institutions, noted that ETL will only stop to exist as trainer the very day Nigerian higher education is at per with ivy universities globally.
Speaking at a press conference i n Lagos, he said: “In 2016, the ETL has drawn a curriculum for the training of top executives in tertiary institutions that will revolutionize all aspects of needs in Nigerian higher education.
According to him, in 2016, ETL will  train VC, Registrars, Busars, Rectors, Provost and other executives in Nigerian tertiary institutions on: “Tools for Financially Sustainable Tertiary Education Policies, Financial options for Restoring Quality and Access to Public Higher Education in Africa, Academic Integrity in Higher Education and Funding Higher Education Infrastructure Expansion.
Other topics include; Qualitative Research and Case Study Application in Higher Education, Competences for Effective Leadership in Higher  Education, Greater Involvement and Interaction between Industry and Higher Education and The Entrepreneurial Higher Education Institution to mention a few.
